New York Heartwoods began as a lumber company in 2011. The knowledge gained from milling and drying our own wood we now use to help clients transform their trees into quality, place-based sustainable furniture and materials for residential, commercial, and creative applications.

Working with architects, interior designers, homeowners and creatives, locally and across the country, we steward fallen, insect damaged, and cleared trees through the transport, milling, drying and fabrication processes. The result: beautiful objects and surfaces produced in a way that addresses a changing climate, stores carbon, conserves forests, and creates fun and memorable experiences.
